Visit Arezzo in the Spring and I will take you on a picnic you won't forget. Picnics are a favorite pastime of Italians when the weather starts to warm and the ground is dry. We will walk to pick up a delicious lunch from the local favorite artisan sandwich shop, Pannini & Co, and make our way to Petrarca, a sprawling park in the courtyard of the Duomo and just beyond Piazza Grande.
Imagine yourself enjoying an Italian picnic in Petrarca: we can take in the beautiful views of Arezzo, soak in the warm Tuscan sunshine, listen to the church bells, and watch from a distance while local children play a game of soccer. To one side of us the ancient steeple of the Cathedral, to the other, the ancient stone walls of the Fortezza. We lounge comfortably on the sprawling lawn at the base of the exquisite monument of Francesco Petrarca - Arezzo's own famous Italian classical poet and philosopher. Nicknamed the Father of Humanism, Francesco Petrarca's philosophy helped spark the Renaissance.

THAT'S MEIt’s one thing to “know” someone, it’s another thing entirely to invest time to learn about that someone’s family, their health, their interests. It takes time and effort to form a relationship – to show you really care. Categories
