Coming to Milan May 1 - October 31, 2015 is the Universal Exposition with the central theme: Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life. During your trip to Italy you can visit the world. Over this six-month period, Milan will host 140 countries to showcase and discuss solutions that guarantee healthy, safe and sufficient food for everyone, while respecting the Planet and its equilibrium. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about, and taste, the world's best dishes, while discovering gastronomic traditions and agriculture of each exhibiting country. Who better to invite the world to discuss and share food and sustainable agricultural practices than Italy? Imagine relaxing poolside with a view of the Tuscan countryside. Rolling hills of olive groves. Warm Tuscan sunshine. A beautiful 5-bedroom, luxury Italian country home, with plenty of space for a large group of friends or family. A short walk to a family-run organic farm where you purchase your seasonal fruits and vegetables for the evening's dinner outside on the veranda. Just minutes away, down from your quiet, private residence, is the historic walled village of Monte San Savino.
If this is your dream, then Podere Meraviglia is your destination. Contact me, your Tuscany Consultant to book your stay and plan your vacation. Visit Arezzo in the Spring and I will take you on a picnic you won't forget. Picnics are a favorite pastime of Italians when the weather starts to warm and the ground is dry. We will walk to pick up a delicious lunch from the local favorite artisan sandwich shop, Pannini & Co, and make our way to Petrarca, a sprawling park in the courtyard of the Duomo and just beyond Piazza Grande.
Imagine yourself enjoying an Italian picnic in Petrarca: we can take in the beautiful views of Arezzo, soak in the warm Tuscan sunshine, listen to the church bells, and watch from a distance while local children play a game of soccer. To one side of us the ancient steeple of the Cathedral, to the other, the ancient stone walls of the Fortezza. We lounge comfortably on the sprawling lawn at the base of the exquisite monument of Francesco Petrarca - Arezzo's own famous Italian classical poet and philosopher. Nicknamed the Father of Humanism, Francesco Petrarca's philosophy helped spark the Renaissance. You cannot come to Italy without taking in an Italian cooking class! Pull up your sleeves and dive into the flavors and foods of Tuscany! Don't just visit, immerse yourself in the language and culture to get the full experience. I will connect you to the courses that you need to create the experience you want. Wherever you come from or need to go, I will arrange any personal, professional transport you might require. Petrarca was born in Arezzo in the 1304 and this apartment was part of his House. He is considered "the father of Humanism" an attitude associated with the flourishing of the Renaissance.
You can stay here and experience first hand the real Italian life. This two bedroom, one bathroom vacation home apartment is located in an historical villa on the hilltop in the medieval old world city. The ground floor entry hall is right off Via dell'Orto. The entry looks out onto the Arezzo Cathredal, the large vista view park, and the Medici Fortress. The large furnished downstairs area includes a living/dining room with comfortable seating, dining for 8, kitchen with stove, oven, refrigerator, washing machine, and has a full compliment of dishes, silverware, and cooking utensils. The upstairs has two fully furnished double and twin bedrooms, including linens and bedding. The fully furnished bath with toilet, shower, bidet, and towels and linens. A third room is available as a study or reading room. Free TV and WIFI is also available. Outdoor gardens are right out the front door in the beautiful park. When Gina London decided to tell her life story and share her experiences with the world through her book Because I'm Small and You Love Me, she wanted to launch it in a way that celebrated the places where her experiences happened. Having played a big part in the story, we hosted a book launch and signing event here in Arezzo. Bravissima Gina!
